Right in the village is the Carinthian Open-Air Museum Maria Saal, part of the Landesmuseum Kärnten: around four hectares with six historic farmsteads plus mills, a sawmill, a lime kiln and a charcoal pile from the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum is usually open from May to October; current opening times are listed at landesmuseum.ktn.gv.at.
Also only minutes away are the Gothic cathedral of Maria Saal, the Duke’s Chair in the Zollfeld and the Magdalensberg Archaeological Park with the excavations of a Roman town. Hochosterwitz Castle, the Pyramidenkogel tower and the lidos on Lake Wörthersee make good half-day trips; Klagenfurt with its old town, Benediktinermarkt and Minimundus is about 15 minutes away.
In winter, ski areas such as the Gerlitzen Alpe, Petzen or Simonhöhe are easy to reach by car, and in Advent the Christmas market in Klagenfurt is a highlight. In spring and autumn the Zollfeld and the surrounding hills are ideal for cycling and hiking.

Himmelberg, 19 October 2026. Luxescape GmbH is expanding on the Gerlitzen Alpe in Carinthia, Austria: the Alpennest and Alpenblick apartments are joined by the Alpenzeit and Alpenliebe apartments. All four are in the same building at the Kanzelhöhe (Kanzelhöhe 8, 9521 Treffen am Ossiacher See) at 1,440 metres – at the entrance to the ski area, with views to the Julian Alps.

The Alpenzeit apartment sleeps up to four guests on 50 m²: a bedroom with a double bed, a bright living room with dining table and sofa, a kitchen and a terrace with mountain views. The Alpenliebe apartment, 40 m², is designed for two and has a covered terrace with a panorama across Carinthia. Both have Wi-Fi, TV and a free underground parking space; dogs are welcome.
With four apartments for two to six guests, Luxescape now caters for couples, families and groups on the Gerlitzen Alpe. Together the apartments in the same building sleep up to 18 people – for ski trips with friends, family gatherings or team days. Dogs are allowed in three of the four apartments; the Alpennest apartment has a dedicated workspace for workation.
The Gerlitzen Alpe is the southernmost mountain of the Nockberge and one of Carinthia’s best-known ski areas: 53 km of slopes and 18 lifts in winter, 147 km of hiking trails, an adventure arena and a forest ropes course in summer. Lake Ossiach and Villach lie in the valley, a few minutes away by the Kanzelbahn cable car.

The detached timber chalet stands at 1,763 metres in the stone pine forest, close to the slopes, the ski school and the three mountain lakes of the Turracher Höhe.

On 105 m² the chalet offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room with a tiled stove and dining nook for up to seven guests, plus a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and oven, a balcony and terrace with mountain views, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and free parking. Pets are allowed and a cot is available.

On the Gerlitzen Alpe the apartments Alpennest and Alpenblick are in the same building, each about 50 m² for up to six guests. The ski school and practice area are a few minutes’ walk away, and each apartment comes with a free underground parking space.
On the Turracher Höhe the chalet apartment Almzeit offers 77 m², two bedrooms and room for up to eight guests. It has a private sauna and a large terrace; slopes and ski school are close by. Thanks to the altitude and snowmaking the season usually runs from late November into April.
